Dr Lawrence Yuen is an accomplished General Surgeon, with a focus on hepatobiliary, pancreatic and transplant surgery. After attaining his medical degree from the University of New South Wales, he completed his general surgical training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in General Surgery in 2010.
Furthermore, Dr Yuen completed specialist training at Westmead Hospital, where he spent a year of training in kidney and pancreas transplantation, and then continued his fellowship at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Liver Unit in Brisbane. Here, he developed his skills in complex hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery and received further training in kidney and liver transplantation.
Dr Yuen's passion for teaching and mentoring led him to a role as Clinical Lecturer in Surgery at the University of Sydney Medical School. Additionally, he also holds the position of Network Director, Surgical Skills training for Western Sydney.
Dr Yuen is an active member of several professional societies in his areas of expertise, including the Transplantation Society of Australia and New Zealand, Australia and New Zealand Hepatic, Pancreatic and Biliary Association, and General Surgeons Australia. Additionally, Dr Yuen serves on the Transplant Advisory Committee of NSW, a clinical advisory body that provides guidance on transplantation-related issues.
Overall, Dr Yuen is a highly accomplished surgeon with a wealth of knowledge and expertise in his field, and a passion for teaching and mentoring the next generation of medical professionals.
