Prof Arthur Richardson

Prof Richardson is a highly experienced Australian surgeon who has been providing expert medical care to patients for over two decades. He received his medical degree from Sydney Medical School at the University of Sydney and subsequently completed his surgical training at Westmead Hospital. In 1986, he was awarded the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS).

In addition to his training in Australia, Prof Richardson has also received advanced surgical training in France and the UK, where he served as a clinical lecturer at Oxford University. His clinical expertise primarily focuses on the management of patients with liver and pancreatic tumors, with a special interest in the multi-disciplinary management of colorectal liver metastases. In particular, he treats both benign and malignant tumors of the stomach and esophagus, as well as adrenal gland-related issues.

Apart from his focus on specialized areas, he handles other general surgeries as well, including gallbladder surgery and the management of gallstones, hernia repairs, varicose vein surgery, and the treatment of hyperhidrosis. He is also one of the few surgeons in Sydney specialising in neuroendocrine tumors. Currently, he serves as the Head of Upper Gastrointestinal and Hepato-Biliary Surgery at Westmead Hospital. Additionally, he is a visiting medical officer at the Sydney Adventist Hospital, Westmead Hospital, and Westmead Private Hospital.
