A/Prof Nimalan Pathma-Nathan

Dr Pathma-Nathan is a highly experienced Colorectal and General Surgeon with a passion for advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery techniques. A Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in General Surgery since 2000, he gained further subspecialty training, becoming a Fellow of the Colorectal Surgical Society in 2002. His extensive surgical training took him across Australia and overseas, where he worked at renowned hospitals, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide and Manchester Royal Infirmary in the UK. In addition to his surgical work, Dr Pathma-Nathan is actively involved in teaching and administration, mentoring and supervising both undergraduate and post-graduate students. He is a Lead Clinician for the Colorectal Cancer Group for Western Sydney and regularly contributes to advanced surgical training programs and workshops. Dr Pathma-Nathan has specific interests in colorectal malignancy, laparoscopic and anorectal surgery, diverticular disease, inflammatory bowel disease, perianal disease, hernia surgery, gallbladder surgery, and paediatric colorectal surgery. He is highly regarded by his patients and peers for his exceptional surgical skills, compassionate approach, and commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for his patients.
