Dr Kristy Fraser-Kirk

Dr. Fraser-Kirk is a highly skilled ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeon. She specialises in general ENT conditions for both children and adults, and has a subspecialty in Advanced Ear and Hearing Implant surgery, providing patients with complex ear diseases and deafness with solutions. Dr. Fraser-Kirk completed her undergraduate psychology degree before receiving her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery with Honours at the University of Queensland. Together with her husband, Dr. Grant Fraser-Kirk, and young family, she then moved to London where she completed a further 15 months of advanced ENT training in pediatrics and cochlear implantation at Guy's and St. Thomas Hearing Implant Centre, and the Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Fraser-Kirk is an active member of the ENT governing body, ASOHNS, and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. She aims to offer her patients on the Sunshine Coast high-quality and compassionate medical care, while providing a range of surgical solutions for conductive deafness, severe or profound sensorineural deafness, unsatisfactory mastoid cavities, and complex ear disease. She is passionate about holistic healthcare, good communication, and continued education. In her role as the outgoing Director of the Sunshine Coast University Hospital ENT Department, she mentors junior colleagues inside and outside the hospital system and regularly coordinates ENT training for clinicians on the Sunshine Coast. In 2017, she was awarded the Sunshine Coast Clinical School Teaching Award (Surgery).

Dr. Fraser-Kirk believes in tailoring her treatments to each patient's individual needs, providing open discussions, and offering surgical options for patients with an "air-bone gap" or those with severe or down-sloping sensorineural hearing loss who are not achieving good communication despite hearing aids. With her advanced skills and passion for her profession, Dr. Fraser-Kirk is dedicated to helping each of her patients achieve optimal health and communication outcomes.
