Dr Hunter Wang is a highly trained Gastroenterologist and Interventional Endoscopist based in Wahroonga, Sydney. He holds conjoint accreditation in gastroscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and Endosonographic Ultrasound (EUS). Dr Wang graduated from the University of Sydney and holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree as well as a Bachelor of Commerce degree, awarded with Distinction from the University of New South Wales.
With a particular interest in gastroenterology, hepatology, and inflammatory bowel disease, Dr Wang is dedicated to the early detection and management of gastrointestinal cancers, oesophageal diseases, complex polyps, pancreaticobiliary diseases, gastrointestinal bleeding, functional gut disorders, and chronic liver disease. He has extensive experience in advanced endoscopic procedures including Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR) for advanced neoplasia in the gastrointestinal tract, cancer screening, Barrett's mucosectomy and Radiofrequency Ablation, small bowel enteroscopy, and cholangioscopy.
Dr Wang completed a fellowship in advanced endoscopy at Westmead Hospital, an internationally renowned institution where he gained expertise in complex tissue resection and a broad spectrum of endoluminal therapies. He is currently pursuing a higher degree in research on innovative endoscopic techniques with the University of Sydney and Westmead clinical school.
As a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and American Gastroenterology Association, Dr Wang stays up-to-date with the latest advancements in his field. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and has presented his research at national and international conferences. Dr Wang also actively participates in teaching medical students from the Australian National University at Sydney Adventist Hospital.
