Dr Hessom Razavi

Dr Hessom Razavi is an exceptionally skilled ophthalmologist based in Nedlands, 6009, a suburb of Perth in Western Australia. With a wealth of experience in the field, Dr Razavi's main areas of expertise lie in medical retina, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal vascular disease, as well as cataract and pterygium surgery.

After completing his medical degree and ophthalmology training in Western Australia, Dr Razavi went on to pursue further training through fellowships in both Western Australia and Victoria. In 2014, he had the honor of being selected as the inaugural Lions Outback Vision fellow. This role allowed him to provide much-needed eye care in remote communities throughout Western Australia, with a particular focus on improving Aboriginal eye health.

Dr Razavi's dedication to advancing his field led him to undertake a fellowship under the supervision of Prof Robyn Guymer in Melbourne. During this time, he focused on retinal diseases and research, further enhancing his expertise in the area. His commitment to research extends to his role as the unit coordinator for ophthalmology teaching at the esteemed University of Western Australia.
