Dr Giuseppe Femia

Dr Giuseppe Femia is a highly skilled and compassionate interventional cardiologist based in Campbelltown, Sydney. With a focus on patient-centred care, Dr Femia is committed to providing exceptional treatment using advanced techniques.

Dr Femia obtained his Bachelor of Science with Honours and Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery with Honours from the University of Sydney Medical School. He then completed his cardiology training at renowned hospitals including Wollongong and Liverpool.

To further enhance his expertise, Dr Femia underwent three years of sub-speciality fellowship training at Liverpool Hospital. During this time, he specialised in interventional cardiology and cardiac device implantation, honing his skills in advanced procedures.

Passionate about research and teaching, Dr Femia has made substantial contributions to the medical field. He successfully completed his PhD in Medicine at the University of Sydney, focusing on his area of expertise. Currently, he serves as a postdoctoral research fellow under the mentorship of a globally esteemed cardiac magnetic resonance expert.

In addition to his research commitments, Dr Femia is a conjoint lecturer at both the University of New South Wales and Western Sydney University. This allows him to share his wealth of knowledge and experience with future medical professionals, ensuring the continued advancement of cardiology.

Dr Femia's primary interests within his specialty lie in the management of chest pain and shortness of breath, heart attacks and coronary artery disease, heart rhythm abnormalities, coronary angiography, and cardiac device implantation (including pacemakers and defibrillators).
