Dr. Rohan Rajaratnam is a highly accomplished Consultant and Interventional Cardiologist with a distinguished career spanning more than two decades. Currently, he serves as the Clinical Director of the Cardiovascular Stream in SWSLHD and holds the position of Professor of Medicine (conjoint) at Western Sydney University. In these esteemed roles, Dr. Rohan oversees the strategic direction of the Departments of Cardiology, Cardiothoracic surgery, Vascular surgery, and Renal Medicine for the district, which has earned him numerous NSW Health and SWSLHD quality awards.
Dr. Rohan completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Sydney and pursued postgraduate training in cardiology at Concord and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals before joining Southwest Cardiology. Throughout his illustrious career, he has held various leadership positions, including serving as the First Director of Cardiology at Campbelltown Hospital between 2004 and 2011.
With his extensive experience, Dr. Rohan is skilled in all aspects of general cardiology and has a particular interest in interventional cardiology and acute coronary syndrome. He actively participates in numerous local and international multicentre research trials. Despite his busy schedule, Dr. Rohan remains dedicated to teaching and mentoring medical students, basic physician trainees, advanced trainees in cardiology, and interventional cardiology fellows.
Dr. Rohan is a valuable member of several prestigious hospitals, including Liverpool Hospital, Sydney Southwest Private Hospital, Prince of Wales Private Hospital, and Norwest Private Hospital. His contributions to the field of cardiology have been nothing less than exceptional, and his unwavering commitment to healthcare has earned him a respected reputation in the medical community.
