Dr McMullin, a consultant vascular and endovascular surgeon, is the Director of the South Sydney Vascular Centre at Miranda. She consults daily and holds privileges at St George Public and St George Private Hospitals, Kogarah, and The Sutherland Hospital, Caringbah. Dr McMullin’s appointment has brought revolution in vascular surgery with the introduction of minimally invasive endovascular techniques. She is accredited to undertake all endovascular techniques and manages all aspects of vascular disease but maintains a strong focus on chronic leg ulcers. She is always amazed that Hippocrates was dealing with venous leg ulcers in 500BC, but today the same technology is used to treat them. She runs a weekly leg ulcer clinic with the South Sydney Vascular Centre where she investigates to implement the correct treatment. Arterial disease is treated through balloon angioplasty and stenting instead of large open operations, which is now the preferred method of treatment in most cases. Dr McMullin is committed to providing the best care for her patients and providing them with the latest technology and treatment options.
