Dr Davinder Hans

Dr Davinder Hans is a psychiatrist with a focus on personalized care and collaborative treatment plans. His aim is to involve patients in their treatment while considering their values and long-term goals. Working in partnership with general practitioners and other healthcare providers, Davinder determines evidence-based treatment options for his patients. He holds various qualifications in psychopharmacology and psychotherapies from renowned universities worldwide, utilizing his expertise to assess and treat patients effectively, ensuring that prescribed medications are necessary and suitable.

Having gained extensive experience in youth and adult mental health, Davinder embarked on his private practice at Hollywood Private Hospital. With a background in youth mental health, he advocates for early intervention, emphasizing practical emotional regulation and anxiety management skills. Additionally, he has experience in treating adult patients with treatment-resistant mood and anxiety disorders, often combined with other complex conditions. Davinder's extensive skills enable him to work collaboratively with his patients, helping them achieve their treatment goals, while his friendly demeanor and open-mindedness establish a comfortable environment.

In addition to his practice, Davinder boasts a strong academic background and educational role. He is affiliated with the University of Notre Dame Australia, where he holds an academic appointment. He has published articles on psychiatry topics in international journals and authored the chapter on Anxiety disorders in the Australian text Foundations of Clinical Psychiatry 4th Edition 2017.

Davinder holds several accreditations and certifications in working with patients, including being credentialed for rTMS treatment by the Black Dog Institute in Sydney and being an accredited psychotherapy supervisor. He currently serves as the Chair of the RANZCP (WA) Branch Continuous Professional Development (CPD) committee and is a member of the binational RANZCP CPD committee. Furthermore, he chairs the Binational RANZCP rTMS CPD committee. In the private sector, Davinder directs the Trauma Program and the Youth Program at Hollywood Private Hospital, while in the public sector, he remains the Director of Youth Psychiatry in WACHS.

Dr Davinder Hans holds the following qualifications: MSc Affect Neuro (The Netherlands), MSc Youth Mental Health (Melbourne), Grad Cert Autism Diag (UWA), and is an Approved Medical Specialist (WA Work Cover). He has experience working with various age groups, including 18-60 and 16-24. Furthermore, he has interacted with doctors, psychiatrists, medical students, gender diverse individuals, gay and lesbian individuals, as well as military veterans and emergency services personnel.
