Professor David Lubowski is one of Australia's most experienced and highly published colorectal surgeons, with over 30 years of practice. He has extensive expertise in treating a wide range of colorectal conditions. After completing his surgical training in Sydney, he pursued postgraduate training in colorectal surgery at St Mark’s Hospital, London—one of the world’s leading colorectal specialty hospitals. Prof. Lubowski currently serves as the Head of Department for both Surgery and Colorectal Surgery at St George Public Hospital and is a Conjoint Professor at the University of New South Wales. He also contributes to the academic community as the Colorectal Specialty Editor of the ANZ Journal of Surgery. His areas of expertise include colorectal cancer surgery, anal fissure, anal fistula, colonoscopy, faecal incontinence, obstructed defaecation syndrome (constipation), haemorrhoids, perianal abscess, pilonidal disease (cysts and sinus), rectal prolapse, robotic and laparoscopic surgery, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), and hernia surgery (inguinal, femoral, incisional). Prof. Lubowski is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB). He is a member of several prestigious organizations, including the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) in England, St Mark’s Association in London, the European Association of Coloproctology, the Surgical Research Society of Australasia, and is a Foundation Member of the Colorectal Surgical Society of ANZ.
