Dr Dean Conrad

Dr Dean Conrad is a highly experienced obstetrician and gynaecologist based in Miranda, Sydney, Australia. Graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in 2009, he subsequently completed his training at The Sutherland Hospital.

Dr Conrad then undertook his training with The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) at St George and Royal Women’s Hospitals. Throughout his career, he has pursued further professional development in the area of advanced endoscopic gynaecological surgery. He completed a two-year fellowship with Sydney Women's Endosurgery Centre (SWEC) under the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society (AGES).

One of Dr Conrad's primary interests lies in minimally invasive advanced pelvic surgery, utilizing laparoscopic and robotic techniques. His commitment to empowering patients and providing them with a supportive environment is evident in his approach to patient care. Dr Conrad strongly advocates for evidence-based medicine and has contributed significantly to the medical field through his publications in peer-reviewed journals, as well as his presentations on advanced endosurgical techniques at national and international conferences.

In addition to his expertise in advanced endoscopic surgery, Dr Conrad has a particular interest in urogynaecology and fertility. He takes a holistic approach to pelvic floor health and works closely with pelvic floor physiotherapists and continence nurses to provide comprehensive care. Dr Conrad emphasizes the use of non-mesh alternatives for the surgical treatment of incontinence and prolapse, prioritizing patient safety and comfort.

Dr Conrad also conducts urodynamic studies and has a keen interest in fertility treatments, including issues affecting the early stages of pregnancy. He completed his Masters in Reproductive Medicine at UNSW and collaborates with City Fertility to offer inclusive fertility treatments to patients from diverse backgrounds, including the LGBTI community.
