Dr David Huber's profile

Dr David Huber is a renowned vascular surgeon who specialises in treating patients with venous disease. He is the founder and chairman of the Department of Vascular Surgery at Illawarra Health Area Service and has pioneered the first dedicated endovascular suite in Australia, located at The Wollongong Hospital. With extensive training in Australia and the UK, Dr Huber has established himself as a leading expert in his field and is on the executive of the Australian College of Phlebology.

Dr Huber has dedicated his focus to treating venous diseases such as varicose veins, venous ulcers, deep and superficial venous thrombosis, and compression syndromes. Over the past decade, the treatment of venous disease has evolved significantly with new technologies such as laser, radiofrequency, and glue. Dr Huber also performs stenting of compression syndromes using dedicated venous stents, which has become increasingly important for the management of recurrent venous disease, chronic venous insufficiency, and pelvic congestion syndrome.

Given the many available options for treating venous disease, Dr Huber values involving his patients in the decision-making process to ensure that they receive personalised and effective treatment. He offers his services at Wollongong, Nowra, and Camden and is committed to improving the lives of those suffering from venous diseases.
