Dr Shay Zayontz

Dr Shay Zayontz is a Melbourne trained Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in hip and knee surgery. He is a Fellow of both the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian Orthopaedic Association. He completed his medical degree at Monash University in 1990 and underwent Basic Surgical Training at The Alfred Hospital. He successfully completed his orthopaedic fellowship in 1999.

In 2000, Dr Zayontz was accepted for a subspecialty Fellowship at Harvard University Medical School, Boston. During this time, he published multiple research papers on knee kinematics and the function of knee replacements. His research team published some crucial concepts relating to knee flexion that were critical in the development of high flexion knee designs. Dr Zayontz had the opportunity to work with leading knee and hip surgeons at Massachusetts General Hospital and The Brigham and Women's Hospital.

After returning to Melbourne, Dr Zayontz settled into private practice at Cabrini Health in Brighton and Malvern. He also maintains a public appointment at Sandringham and District Memorial Hospital.

Dr Zayontz's main interests lie in hip and knee surgery, specifically hip replacement, knee replacement, knee arthroscopy, and broken hip cases. He has been serving patients in the Brighton, 3186 area and the wider Melbourne region since 1999.

Dr Zayontz speaks fluent Hebrew in addition to English, allowing him to effectively communicate with patients from diverse backgrounds. With his extensive qualifications and experience, he remains dedicated to providing excellent care and treatment to his patients.
