Dr Michael Leung

Dr Michael Leung is an eminent Interventional Cardiologist who has been associated with Melbourne Heart Care since 2002. He is a specialist in Cardiac CT and Cardiac MRI, and his clinical expertise in both invasive and non-invasive management of ischaemic heart disease is highly regarded. Dr Leung pursued a two-year Fellowship in coronary intervention at Monash Medical Centre that provided him with extensive experience in a variety of percutaneous interventions, making him an authority in this field. Moreover, in 2007, he was awarded a PhD from Monash University for his research work on human coronary microvascular haemodynamics and aortic biomechanics. Following this, in 2008, he completed a two-year Post-doctoral fellowship at Royal Adelaide Hospital in Cardiac CT and Cardiac MR imaging, further enriching his skills and knowledge. Currently, Dr Leung serves as a Staff Specialist at MonashHeart, Monash Medical Centre, where he helps patients with his exceptional clinical practice that combines invasive and non-invasive management of ischaemic heart disease. He utilises the latest technologies in Cardiac CT and Cardiac MR imaging to diagnose coronary artery disease, cardiomyopathy, valvular heart disease, pericardial disease and cardiac mass, thus enhancing the diagnostic capabilities of his patients’ care. Dr Leung's unwavering commitment and passion for his profession make him a valuable asset to his patients, colleagues and the medical fraternity as a whole.
