A/Prof Stuart Moir

A/Prof Stuart Moir is an esteemed Cardiologist based in Warragul, Victoria, Australia. He is affiliated with Holmesglen Private Hospital and has established a reputation for his expertise in various aspects of cardiology, with particular emphasis on cardiac MRI, heart failure, echocardiography, general cardiology, and valvular disease.

Having completed his MBBS and obtained his fellowship in cardiology (FRACP) in 1994, Stuart further pursued a PhD at the University of Queensland, Department of Medicine, specialising in Cardiac Imaging Research Group. His doctoral research centered around the utilization of contrast echocardiography in diagnosing and managing cardiovascular conditions. The results of his extensive research were published in several esteemed international journals, earning him recognition and accolades.

Stuart's exceptional contributions to the field of cardiology were acknowledged through his selection as a finalist for the Ralph Reader Prize at the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand. Additionally, he was honored with the combined National Heart Foundation and National Health and Medical Research Council Scholarship for his outstanding research achievements.

To broaden his expertise in contrast echocardiography, Stuart embarked on a fellowship at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, USA. He then returned to Australia and worked as a specialist at MonashHEART. In 2008, Stuart further enhanced his skills by completing a training program in cardiac CT in San Francisco. Later, in 2013, he pursued a cardiac MRI fellowship at The Heart Hospital in London, solidifying his proficiency in this advanced imaging technique.

Presently, Stuart holds the esteemed position of Lead Cardiologist for the cardiac MRI service at MonashHEART. He continues to provide exceptional patient care, employing the latest advancements in cardiology to diagnose and treat various cardiovascular conditions.
