Mr Derek Carr

Meet Mr. Derek Carr, an accomplished orthopaedic surgeon specializing in shoulder and knee surgery. With his qualifications including a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa in 1995, Derek has been serving patients in Melbourne since 2000. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons since 2008.

Derek's dedication to excellence drove him to gain further experience abroad, training in Northern Italy and Vancouver, Canada. This allowed him to work with professional athletes and gain expertise in sports orthopaedic management. His training covered a wide range of procedures, including open and arthroscopic management of shoulder and knee issues.

After his international experience, Derek returned to Australia and worked as a consultant in the Southern and Bayside Health Networks. Currently, he is a valued member of the prestigious group practice of Peter Hannon and Adrian Trivett, providing care to patients in the Bayside area.

Passionate about helping his patients achieve their goals, Derek provides personalized care, attentively listening to their concerns and collaborating with them to develop tailored treatment plans. Whether it's returning to sports or resuming daily activities, Derek is dedicated to helping his patients regain function and improve their quality of life.

Outside of his practice, Derek enjoys spending time with his family and exploring the scenic Bayside area.
