Owen's interests lie specifically in shoulder, elbow, and upper limb trauma, including rotator cuff tears, instability management, arthritis and joint replacement surgery, sports injuries, and fracture management. He is a highly qualified surgeon, having graduated from Newcastle University in 2004 and completing his Victorian Orthopaedic training in 2016. Owen is a Fellow of both the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and the Australian Orthopaedic Association.
In addition to his medical education, Owen has further honed his skills through various fellowship programs. He was selected as a fellow with the Sydney Shoulder Research Institute, where he had the opportunity to collaborate with esteemed professionals in his field, including Mr Ben Cass, Mr Allan Young, and Mr Jeff Hughes. He also completed an Upper Limb fellowship at Wrightington Hospital in the United Kingdom, further expanding his expertise under the guidance of Mr Mike Walton, Prof Len Funk, Prof Adam Watts, and Mr Steve Bale.
Currently, Owen operates publicly at Sandringham District Hospital, Box Hill Hospital, and Frankston Hospital, focusing on shoulder and elbow conditions as well as general orthopaedic trauma. He also provides private consultations at Linacre Private Hospital, Holmesglen Private Hospital, and Frankston Private Hospital. Owen's dedication, knowledge, and experience contribute to his commitment to helping patients achieve optimal health outcomes.
