Dr Sahitya Kamineni

Dr Sahitya Kamineni is a psychiatrist based in Rockhampton, Queensland. With over 18 years of experience in the field, she has established herself as a highly accomplished professional. Dr Kamineni completed her medical training in India in 2002 before gaining valuable experience in various University and district general hospitals across East London, York, and Manchester in the UK.

Throughout her career, Dr Kamineni has acquired extensive expertise in psychiatry, earning her the Membership of Royal College of Psychiatrists in the UK in 2007. She obtained her CCT in General Adult Psychiatry, along with endorsements in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry in 2012. Dr Kamineni is now a professional member of both the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the UK and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.

Dr Kamineni has held several medical leadership positions, including workplace-based postgraduate medical education in Psychiatry. In the UK, she worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Outpatient and Inpatient settings until 2017. After relocating to Rockhampton, she was awarded her Australian fellowship in 2019 and became a Consultant Psychiatrist at the Central Queensland Public Mental Health Service. Dr Kamineni currently provides consultation liaison psychiatry services in addition to maintaining admission rights to Ramsay Clinic at Hillcrest Rockhampton Private Hospital.

Dr Kamineni's areas of special interest include General Adult Psychiatry, Consultation Liaison Psychiatry, Perinatal Mental Health Disorders, and Psycho-Oncology.
