Dr Anil Sharma

Dr. Anil Sharma is a highly specialised ophthalmologist with over 30 years of experience in the field. He graduated from Medical School in 1988 and completed post-graduate training in ophthalmology in 1994. Dr. Sharma also underwent advanced eye training at Sydney Eye Hospital and the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

In 2003, Dr. Sharma started working with the Rockhampton Base Hospital and later joined the Rockhampton Eye Clinic in 2006. Currently, he works as a senior lecturer in ophthalmology with the University of Queensland (UQ) and supervises registrars at the Royal Brisbane Hospital. Dr. Sharma is actively involved in teaching programs for medical students and has also been associated with Qld RANZCO and AMA Qld.

In 2015, Dr. Sharma opened the Central Lakes Eye Clinic, which is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and technology. This allows him to provide comprehensive assessment and treatment for various eye diseases and disorders. He collaborates with Caboolture Private Hospital to admit his patients for surgeries requiring access to new, top-of-the-line surgical equipment.

Dr. Sharma's clinic specialises in several procedures including cataract surgery, vitrectomy + scleral buckle, cataract + iStent surgery for glaucoma, glaucoma management, pterygium removal, intra-ocular injections for macular degeneration, diabetes and other medical retinal disorders, as well as YAG, S.L.T., and retinal laser procedures.
