Dr Manish Chauhan

Dr Manish Chauhan is an experienced psychiatrist based in Rockhampton, Queensland. He obtained his MD in Psychiatry from a prestigious institute in New Delhi, India, where he focused his research on anxiety disorders. In 2005, he relocated to Rockhampton and began working as a consultant psychiatrist at Central Queensland Public Mental Health Service.

Dr Chauhan's dedication to his profession led him to obtain his Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) in 2010, solidifying his expertise in the field. He has held the position of Acting Clinical Director of Psychiatry on multiple occasions during his tenure at the public mental health service.

In 2014, Dr Chauhan decided to expand his practice and established a successful private practice. He specializes in general adult psychiatry, with a particular focus on OCD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, perinatal mental health disorders, ECT, adolescent mental health disorders, psychiatric disorders in the elderly, and psychotherapy. He is also passionate about training and serves as a training director for psychiatry trainees, contributing to the development of future psychiatrists.

Dr Chauhan has admitting rights at the Mental Health Unit of Hillcrest Rockhampton Private Hospital, where he provides comprehensive care for his patients. He is highly regarded in the medical community for his expertise and commitment to delivering exceptional mental health treatment.

With a particular interest in neuroplasticity-based psychiatric treatments, organic mental health disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and schizophrenia, Dr Chauhan continuously explores innovative approaches to enhance his patients' well-being. He prioritizes his patients' needs and offers appointments during office hours at Suite 5.
