Dr Maya Menon

Dr. Maya Menon is an experienced psychiatrist who completed her post-graduation in Psychiatry from a prestigious institute in New Delhi, India. She worked for three years in a tertiary hospital managing general adult, child, and adolescent patients before moving to Australia in 2005, where she completed her Australian Fellowship in 2010. Dr. Menon has been in full-time private practice since 2014 and is credentialed to provide hospital treatment in Ramsay Clinic, Rockhampton. Dr. Menon is certified to deliver somatic treatments like Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).

Dr. Menon’s areas of interest include psychotherapy, mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder and other anxiety disorders, perinatal mental health disorders, alcohol and drug dependence disorders, eating disorders, adult ADHD, and memory reconsolidation therapy for patients suffering from trauma-related memories. She is passionate about providing personalized care to her patients and believes in working collaboratively with them to understand and address their mental health needs.

Dr. Menon was also the academic coordinator for medical students during their Mental Health rotations in Rockhampton from 2011 to 2014. She brings extensive knowledge and expertise in psychiatry to her private practice and is committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based treatment to her patients.
