Dr. Paul Thornton-Bott is an orthopaedic surgeon with over 13 years of experience in the field. He specializes in primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery. Originally trained in the prestigious Oxford Training Program, Dr. Thornton-Bott has worked as a lower limb specialist in Cambridgeshire before returning to Australia in 2014. Since then, he has completed two lower limb arthroplasty fellowships at the Mater Hospital in Sydney, gaining valuable experience alongside renowned orthopaedic surgeons. Dr. Thornton-Bott is highly skilled in performing computer navigated and robotic assisted surgeries, and he has a special interest in minimally invasive direct anterior and posterior approach hip surgery. He encourages early mobilization, targeted pain control, and rapid recovery for his patients.
Dr. Thornton-Bott is a firm believer in personalized care and aims to tailor treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient. He leads a dedicated team that is focused on providing the highest level of care and achieving the best possible outcomes for their patients. Dr. Thornton-Bott is highly committed to teaching and has trained numerous orthopaedic surgeons both nationally and internationally in the direct anterior approach to hip replacement. He actively participates in research and has presented his findings at various conferences worldwide.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Thornton-Bott also provides a public service at the Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital. He offers urgent appointments and holds clinics in Sydney as well as on the South Coast in the Illawarra/Shoalhaven at Shellharbour, Nowra, and Milton. Dr. Thornton-Bott is dedicated to improving the quality of life for his patients through orthopaedic surgery and strives to deliver the best possible care.
