Dr. Hassan's approach to pain intervention includes peripheral nerves and joints blocks, sympathetic ganglion blocks, radiofrequency ablation, PRP injections, intradiscal injections, basivertibral nerve ablation, and neuromodulation. His training background is diverse, with experience in psychiatry at Graylands Hospital, basic physician training at Fremantle Hospital, emergency medicine in Bunbury Base Hospital and Mildura Base Hospital, and general practice training through the Australian General Practice Training program. He has also trained as a Pain Fellow in Liverpool Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and Concord Hospital in Sydney, Australia, and is currently undergoing a Procedural Endorsement Program with the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Australia.
Dr. Hassan has a special interest in pain interventions, neuromodulation, chemotherapy-induced pain, and lower limb pain. He is actively involved with the research team at Sydney Pain Management Centre. His pain philosophy is inspired by Sir William Osler's view that a great physician treats the patient who has the disease, not just the disease itself. Dr. Hassan believes that identifying the correct pain originator and treating the whole person can significantly reduce the pain burden of the patient, emphasizing that some pain is preventable and some pain is curable.
