Dr. Vincent Wong graduated from the University of Sydney and pursued his specialist training in endocrinology at Westmead Hospital. He was awarded his PhD in 2005 from the University of Sydney for his clinical and basic research in the study of insulin action following heart attacks.
Currently, he serves as the senior staff specialist and the Director of Diabetes and Endocrine Service at Liverpool and Fairfield Hospitals. Dr. Wong is the Liverpool Lead for the Diabetes, Obesity, Metabolism Translational Research Unit, an academic unit in the South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD). Additionally, he holds the position of Conjoint Associate Professor at the South Western Sydney Clinical School at the University of New South Wales. In this role, he is actively involved in teaching medical students, medical registrars, and other clinical staff within the hospital.
His current research interests are extensive and include thyroid cancer, gestational diabetes, diabetic cardiomyopathy, and diabetic retinopathy. He has a particular interest in diabetes, obesity, PCOS, adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders, osteoporosis, and thyroid disorders. Dr. Wong is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin, which allows him to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population.
