Dr Jodi Keane

Dr Jodi Keane is a highly accomplished Obstetrician and Gynaecologist based at Waverley Private Hospital in Mount Waverley, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Graduating with top honors from the University of Melbourne in 2007, Jodi's dedication to her field is evident in her multiple prizes and awards in obstetrics, gynaecology, and medicine.

In addition to her medical degree, Jodi also has a background in science and a Masters in health management/public health. She also holds qualifications in physiotherapy and ultrasound assessment, further enhancing her expertise and ability to provide comprehensive care to her patients.

Jodi underwent FRANZCOG training through Monash Health, which provided her with a broad range of exposure in both generalist and subspecialty gynaecology. She has experience in treating gynaecological problems throughout the age-span and managing extensive tertiary and higher risk obstetrics. This includes handling complex vaginal births, such as twins, VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarean), and vaginal breech deliveries.

Passionate about providing woman-centered care, Jodi is dedicated to delivering a supported birthing experience regardless of the mode of delivery. She is particularly interested in gentle caesarean sections and is currently involved in a project focused on immediate skin-to-skin contact after caesarean births.

Jodi holds public appointments through Monash Health, Latrobe Regional Hospital, and Wonthaggi/Cowes. This provides public patients with unique access to elective surgery in southeast Melbourne and Gippsland, regardless of their treatment site. In addition, she is actively involved in medical student teaching through Monash University, holding two teaching appointments. Jodi has also contributed significantly to the field by authoring a book for junior doctors in the field of obstetrics, with a gynaecology book currently in progress.
