Dr Carin Black

Dr. Carin Black is an experienced Obstetrician who provides exceptional and personalized healthcare to women before, during, and after pregnancy. She is committed to offering holistic and evidence-based care to help her patients make informed choices and achieve optimal outcomes. Dr. Black is thrilled to be part of the dynamic and supportive team at the Women's Obstetrics and Gynaecology Specialists (WOGS). She has been working with the team as a locum since 2015, and her excellent work has earned her a permanent position.

Dr. Black completed her Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) through the University of Adelaide and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG). She completed her Obstetrics and Gynaecology specialist training through the Royal Women's Hospital and spent one year in Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) training. Dr. Black also obtained a Research Higher Degree from the University of Melbourne, focusing on pre-eclampsia, a pregnancy-related condition. She has published numerous scientific papers on this issue in peer-reviewed journals.

Currently, Dr. Black serves as a public Obstetrician at the Royal Women's Hospital and works in the Maternal Medicine and Multiple Pregnancy Clinics. She has extensive experience in managing tertiary labour ward, and she loves sharing her knowledge with medical students and specialist trainees. She values quality and safety in healthcare systems and recently completed her Clinical Improvement Fellowship certificate through Safer Care Victoria and the Royal Women's Hospital.

When she's not working, Dr. Black cherishes spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys reading, running, pilates, camping, and traveling. Her love for Obstetrics and Gynaecology is undeniable, and she strives to continue providing excellent healthcare to her patients.
