Dr Kim Wong

Dr Kim Wong is a dedicated and experienced Nephrologist, living and practicing locally on the Mornington Peninsula. With over 18 years of clinical experience in the field, Dr Wong obtained his medical degree from the University of NSW in 1981. He subsequently completed extensive training as a Nephrologist in New Zealand, Scotland, and Singapore under the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

Since 2011, Dr Wong has held the position of Head of Nephrology, Deputy Director of Medicine, and General Physician at Peninsula Health. His primary focus has been to improve the region’s public renal services, including acute dialysis, chronic peritoneal and haemodialysis, CKD clinics, and patient education services. He collaborates on the Mornington Peninsula GP Clinical Governance Committee and is involved in creating a Map of Medicine for local physicians. Dr. Wong currently leads IT clinical involvement in Peninsula Health and contributes to the e-Alliance IT project to enhance the connectivity with general practitioners.

Dr Wong has a broad range of interests in medicine. These involve general nephrology, dialysis and post-transplant care, resistant hypertension, renal calculus disease, and complex medical problems. He also offers 24hr BP monitor measurement services and accepts referral admissions. Dr Wong is committed to providing quality, efficient, friendly, and compassionate services. He has recently opened his own rooms at Peninsula Specialists Clinic, located at 118 Williams Street Frankston. He is delighted to welcome more clinicians soon. Dr Wong is also committed to the improvement of the local medical community and was elected as Deputy Chair of the Senior Medical Staff Association in 2012. Patients experiencing financial hardship may be bulk billed with his public appointment at Peninsula Health.
