Dr Jerry Vongphanit

Dr Jerry Vongphanit is a distinguished ophthalmic surgeon with extensive experience in performing a wide range of eye surgeries. Currently serving as the Medical Director at Toronto Eye Surgery, Dr Vongphanit is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO).

Dr Vongphanit obtained his medical qualifications from Sydney University and further pursued a Master of Medicine from the same institution. During his Master's program, he conducted in-depth research on retinal diseases as part of the Blue Mountains Eye study, which led to the publication of his findings in international ophthalmic journals. Prior to specialising in ophthalmology, Dr Vongphanit worked as a general physician in public hospitals for several years.

Completing his ophthalmic training at Sydney Eye Hospital, Dr Vongphanit gained comprehensive exposure to specialised areas of ophthalmology across metropolitan Sydney and regional New South Wales. He actively shares his experience and skills by teaching ophthalmology to medical students from the University of Newcastle and ophthalmic trainees from Sydney Eye Hospital.

Dr Vongphanit is highly regarded as an experienced cataract surgeon, having successfully completed over 7000 cases throughout his career. He is also skilled in performing glaucoma lasers and surgeries, eyelid surgery, pterygium removal, and tear duct surgery using a sutureless technique. Additionally, he offers eye injections for macular degeneration, diabetes, and retinal venous occlusions.

Affiliated with private hospitals such as Warners Bay Private Hospital, Pittwater Day Surgery, and Chatswood Private Hospital, Dr Vongphanit operates at these facilities and consults with patients in Mona Vale and Toronto.
