Dr Lisa Cottee

Dr. Lisa Cottee is an exceptionally skilled Ophthalmologist based in Mona Vale, Sydney, Australia. With many years of experience both domestically and internationally, she is known for her exceptional work in the field.

Dr. Cottee obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Sydney in 1978. She then went on to complete her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists in 1984.

As a pioneering surgeon, Dr. Cottee played a vital role in the advancement of phacoemulsification cataract surgery, which has now become a common practice. She has also been instrumental in teaching this technique to country eye surgeons.

In recognition of her outstanding humanitarian services, Dr. Cottee was nominated for the Local Woman of the Year Award by The Hon. Thomas George MP (Lismore). She has made a significant impact through her extensive work overseas, where she operates on the blind and disadvantaged in countries such as Cambodia, China, and Myanmar. Dr. Cottee also dedicates her time to teaching ocular surgery, dealing with complex cases that are rarely encountered in Australia.

Dr. Cottee takes a special interest in various aspects of ophthalmology, including anterior segment conditions such as glaucoma, pterygium, pinguecula, dry/red eye, uveitis, trauma, and minor ocular plastic procedures such as blepharoplasty, entropion & ectropion, and biopsies.

Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Cottee is a devoted mother and actively participates in competitive rowing and cycling. She currently resides on the beaches with her family and continues to pursue further studies, reflecting her lifelong passion for learning.
