Dr Jaya Chandrasekhar

Dr. Jaya Chandrasekhar is a highly qualified and experienced Cardiologist specialising in the field of Cardiac Intervention. She currently practices in Doncaster East, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, and is associated with Warringal Private Hospital.

Dr. Chandrasekhar obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Maharashtra University in Mumbai, India in 2004. She then went on to complete a Coronary Intervention Fellowship at The Canberra Hospital in Canberra, Australia and a TAVI and Coronary Intervention Fellowship at The Heart Institute, University of Ottawa, Canada. Dr. Chandrasekhar furthered her training by completing a Master of Science degree in Biostatistics from the Icahn School of Medicine in New York, USA. She also completed a Post-doctoral Research Fellowship in TAVI at Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine in New York, USA.

Dr. Chandrasekhar's clinical expertise lies in Consultation and Coronary Intervention, including procedures such as Coronary Angioplasty, Diagnostic Angiograms, Complex PCIs, and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Therapies. She is also highly skilled in pharmacotherapy regimens for Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) and Atrial Fibrillation, as well as Women's Health.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Chandrasekhar has made significant contributions to medical research. She has been the Principal Author for several peer-reviewed publications in prestigious journals, including the Journal of the American College of Cardiology and the New England Journal of Medicine.

Dr. Chandrasekhar is known for her patient-centered approach, tailoring treatment plans to incorporate evidence-based medicine and the latest procedural techniques. She brings her international experience and expertise to HeartCare Victoria, where she will be working alongside Dr. Mark Horrigan to provide General Cardiology consultations at their Heidelberg, Balwyn, and Doncaster suites. Dr. Chandrasekhar will also perform interventional procedures at Warringal Private Hospital in Heidelberg.
