Dr Han Lim

Dr Han Lim is a highly accomplished cardiologist based in Glen Waverley, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He is affiliated with Warringal Private Hospital and offers consultations at Austin Hospital and Northern Hospital.

Dr Han completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree at the prestigious University of Melbourne. He then underwent comprehensive training in Cardiology at Austin Hospital, where he developed a keen interest in cardiac electrophysiology and device implantations.

Dr Han's passion for research led him to pursue a PhD on stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation (AF) under the guidance of Professor Prash Sanders. His exceptional work was acknowledged with the NHMRC Medical Postgraduate Scholarship, making him the first Australian cardiologist to receive this prestigious award.

Recognized for his outstanding contributions in the field, Dr Han was honored with the Parmley Prize from the American College of Cardiology in 2012, which recognized his exceptional manuscript as a young investigator. Further expanding his expertise, he completed an advanced cardiac electrophysiology fellowship in Bordeaux, France, under the mentorship of Professor Michel Haissaguerre.

With his extensive knowledge in the field of cardiac electrophysiology, Dr Han specialises in performing catheter ablation for complex arrhythmias, utilizing state-of-the-art techniques for AF, supraventricular tachycardia, and ventricular tachycardia. He is also skilled in pacemaker and implantable cardioverter-defibrillator implantations.

Dr Han's primary area of interest lies in the management of atrial fibrillation (AF). His research in Cardiac Electrophysiology and Cardiology has been widely recognized, resulting in numerous accolades. Notably, he was shortlisted for the American Heart Association Samuel Levine Young Investigator Award in 2014.

In addition to his professional expertise, Dr Han is fluent in both English and Chinese (Mandarin), enabling him to effectively communicate and cater to a diverse patient population.
