Dr James Otton is an Associate Professor of Cardiology based in Darlinghurst, Sydney, Australia. With a special interest in cardiac imaging, he specialises in cardiac CT, cardiac MRI, and three-dimensional echocardiography. Dr Otton holds a BA, B.Sc(Med), M.B. B.S. (Hons), MBiomedE, and a PhD from the University of New South Wales.
Dr Otton's international reputation is underscored by his numerous publications and awards. In 2014, he was honored with the Ingham Institute & SWAHS Research Award, as well as a Travel Fellowship to Kings College Hospital in London. In 2012, he received the SCCT Young Investigator Award from the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography in the USA, the St Vincent’s Clinic Clinical Research Award, and the Paul Korner Research Award from the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute. Additionally, Dr Otton was a finalist for the Young Investigator of the Year Award in 2005, presented by the American Academy of Nanomedicine, and he received recognition from the Santa Fe Institute of Complex Systems in the USA in 2004.
