Dr Stephanie Wilson

Dr Stephanie Wilson is a highly skilled and experienced Cardiologist based in Darlinghurst, Sydney. With over 30 years of expertise in the field, she holds the position of Consultant Cardiologist at St Vincents Hospital since 2002, where she also serves as the Director of the Coronary Care Unit.

Dr Wilson obtained her MBBS (Hons) degree from the prestigious University of Sydney. Following this, she underwent rigorous training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Concord Hospital, further honing her exceptional clinical skills. Dr Wilson's passion for Interventional Cardiology led her to pursue an Interventional Fellowship at the renowned Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. To broaden her knowledge and expertise in this area, she also completed a prestigious Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, USA.

During her intensive training and clinical practice, Dr Wilson simultaneously engaged in research studies focusing on early processes in atherosclerosis, which culminated in the completion of her PhD from the University of Sydney. She has consistently demonstrated a commitment to both the practical and theoretical aspects of cardiology, ensuring a comprehensive approach to patient care.

Throughout her career, Dr Wilson has introduced innovative techniques and procedures to advance the field of cardiology. In 2010, she introduced radial artery coronary angiography and intervention to St Vincents Hospital, further enhancing patient outcomes and safety. Additionally, she actively engages in quality improvement initiatives in cardiac care, as well as percutaneous coronary interventions.

Dr Wilson's dedication to improving cardiac care extends beyond her clinical practice. She is actively involved with the Clinical Excellence Commission and serves on numerous committees dedicated to improving efficiency and patient care across New South Wales.

Dr Wilson possesses a wide range of expertise and has particular interest in Interventional Cardiology and Acute Coronary Syndromes. She is also deeply committed to preventive cardiology, with a specific focus on women's heart health.
