Dr Dominic Simring

Dr Dominic Simring is an experienced Australian Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon who focuses on minimally invasive treatments for arterial and venous disorders. Dr Simring graduated from the University of New South Wales with Honours in 2000, and concurrently completed a Bachelor of Arts program with majors in Political Science and Philosophy. He went on to complete four years of general surgery training and then subspecialized in Vascular Surgery training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney. In 2010, he was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Dr Simring continued to enhance his expertise by accepting an invitation to the Multi-Disciplinary Endovascular Team at University College Hospital, London, where he underwent post-fellowship training under Professor Krassi Ivancev. During his training, Dr Simring gained a wealth of experience in minimally invasive procedures for arterial issues, particularly complex aortic aneurysms. After completing his training, Dr Simring declined an invitation to join the consultant staff at University College Hospital and chose to serve patients in the Byron Hinterland, where he has been a consultant at Lismore Base and St. Vincent's Hospitals since 2011. His services extend to residents in Coffs Harbour and Glen Innes, and he recently added John Flynn Private Hospital to his practice.

His professional achievements include serving as Supervisor of Surgical Training, writing over 50 national and international publications, posters, presentations, and book chapters, and being a Senior Lecturer in Surgery at the University of Western Sydney. Dr Simring specialises in managing carotid stenosis, thoracic, and abdominal aortic aneurysms, peripheral vascular disease, leg ulcers, diabetic foot disease, dialysis access (fistula) construction and maintenance, as well as varicose veins. He offers minimally invasive radiofrequency venous ablation and sclerotherapy as part of his vein-related treatment plan.
