Dr Christos Kondogiannis

Dr Christos Kondogiannis is an Orthopaedic Surgeon approaching 20 years of expertise in all aspects of Knee Sports Orthopaedics and Arthroplasty related surgery. Chris has extensive experience in all Arthroscopic Knee Procedures, including Cruciate Ligament and Complex Knee Ligament Reconstruction, Patellofemoral issues, as well as Knee and Hip Joint Replacement. Chris completed his medical training at the University of Melbourne, and undertook surgical training at the Austin and Repatriation Hospitals. He qualified as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Orthopaedic surgery, before travelling to Bristol, UK where he undertook additional fellowships in knee surgery, sports orthopaedics, orthopaedic trauma, and hip surgery. Chris consults privately in East Melbourne, Ringwood and Wantirna. He consults upon Privately Insured, WorkCover, TAC and Uninsured patients. Chris is currently Head of the Orthopaedic Department at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, where he administers a unit of 15 orthopaedic surgeons. He is also the primary knee surgeon responsible for cruciate ligament reconstruction, acute reconstruction of the multiple ligament-injured knee and other knee procedures. Chris is currently the Federal Chair of Education and Training for the Australian Orthopaedic Association, actively involved in the competency-based training of orthopaedic surgical trainees.
