Mr Damien Phillips

Originally from Melbourne's eastern suburbs, Damien is a highly qualified and passionate Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Head and Neck Surgeon with extensive experience in Paediatric ENT. After completing his undergraduate degree in science, he went on to complete a postgraduate medical degree at the University of Queensland in 2001. Damien then returned to Victoria to undertake advanced surgical training at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, achieving a FRACS in 2010.

In 2011 and 2012, Damien travelled to the United Kingdom to undertake additional training as a subspecialty Clinical Fellow at St Georges Hospital in London. He developed further knowledge in paediatric ENT as a visiting fellow at some of the most prestigious hospitals including Great Ormond Street in London and Cincinnati Children's Hospital in Ohio, United States.

Damien is dedicated to mentoring and training junior doctors and serves as the Supervisor of Surgical Training in Paediatric ENT, Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at the Royal Children's Hospital. He has published articles and developed lectures, presenting at domestic and international conferences and seminars.

With a particular interest in paediatric ENT problems, Damien possesses significant experience treating hearing loss, speech delay and glue ear as well as snoring and sleep apnoea in both children and adults. He has been actively involved in advancing the use of microscopic minimal access sinus surgery, providing better recovery for patients undergoing sinus surgery without the need for nasal packing.

Damien is a highly qualified and experienced surgeon who operates at Warringal Private Hospital and consults at various locations across Melbourne. He also holds public appointments at the Royal Children's Hospital and Austin Hospital. Away from work, Damien is a devoted husband and father of two children and dog. In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball and training nippers at the Surf Life Saving Club over summer.
