Mr Shane Blackmore

Meet Mr. Shane Blackmore, an expert in sports injuries, arthroscopic, and reconstructive surgery of the knee, hip, and shoulder. With his expertise, he offers excellent care and treatment for all aspects of knee, hip, and shoulder surgery.

Shane is among a few Australian trained surgeons whose training has been accredited by both the Arthroscopic Association of North America and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. He is also a member of the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy and a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian Orthopaedic Association.

Having managed sports injuries in college and professional athletes, Shane has honed his skills and expertise in London and New York City. He completed a highly competitive 12-month fellowship position at New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases, focusing on knee, hip, and shoulder injuries of both simple and complex nature.

Shane's subspecialty training focused on the latest arthroscopic techniques for knee ligament reconstruction, meniscal repair and transplant, cartilage restoration and joint preservation, shoulder stabilization, rotator cuff repair, and femoro-acetabular impingement and labral tears of the hip. Before his fellowship in New York, Shane completed the prestigious Calvert Fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth in London.

Aside from his medical career, Shane enjoys playing non-competitive baseball, tennis, and golf. He is happily married and has a young family.
