A/Prof Cameron Holloway

A/Prof Cameron Holloway is an experienced and accomplished Cardiologist based in Darlinghurst, Sydney, Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with first-class honors from Monash University, completed in 2000. He then went on to obtain a Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCP) from London in 2003, followed by a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2007. In 2009, he completed his D.Phil (PhD) at the University of Oxford, focusing on investigating the mechanisms of heart failure using cardiac magnetic resonance.

A/Prof Holloway has a particular interest in cardiac imaging, including cardiac MRI and echocardiography. He is skilled in the diagnosis and management of various cardiac conditions, with a special focus on patients with complex medical issues and HIV-related heart disease. He has published extensively on mechanisms of cardiac disease.

Throughout his distinguished career, A/Prof Holloway has received numerous accolades and recognition for his contributions to the field of cardiology. He was awarded the Australian Heart Foundation Clinical Life Sciences Fellowship from 2012 to 2017. In 2012, he was honored with the Level 3 Cardiac MR award from the Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, as well as the Young Investigator Awards from both the Society for Cardiovascular MR (SCMR) in Phoenix, USA, and the British Society for Cardiovascular Research (BCMR) in the UK. He was also a finalist for the Clinical Young Investigator Award from SCMR in 2009.

Currently, A/Prof Holloway holds multiple roles in the medical field. He serves as a Consultant Cardiologist at St.Vincent’s Hospital and is an Australian Heart Foundation Life Sciences Research Fellow. He is also an Associate Professor at the University of NSW and a Conjoint Associate Professor at the University of Notre Dame. Additionally, he holds a position as Clinical Faculty at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute.
