Dr Barbara Depczynski is a highly experienced endocrinologist who currently serves as a senior staff specialist at The Prince of Wales Hospital and a Conjoint Senior Lecturer at The University of New South Wales. Barbara's specialty lies in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, Type 2 Diabetes, and pituitary disorders. With over three decades of practice, she has amassed a wealth of experience and knowledge in these areas and is well-regarded by her peers and patients alike.
Barbara holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and Bachelor of Medical Science from The University of New South Wales, which she earned in 1989. She underwent physician training at The Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick and St Vincent’s Hospital, Darlinghurst. She also earned her PhD in 2002 after conducting extensive research on hypothalamic neuropeptide regulation of feeding and anterior pituitary function at The Garvan Institute of Medical Research.
Prior to her current role, Barbara was a staff specialist in endocrinology at Liverpool Hospital from 2001-2011, including two years as Director of Endocrinology. Since joining The Prince of Wales Hospital in 2012, she has been responsible for running a general endocrinology clinic focused on providing care for patients with pituitary diseases. Her clinical experience has earned her numerous accolades and recognition in the medical community.
