James Yu

Dr James Yu is an accomplished Interventional Pain Specialist and Consultant Anaesthetist who has garnered recognition from peers and patients alike. He has completed Fellowships from esteemed institutions such as the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA), Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FFPMANZCA), and the World Institute of Pain (FIPP). Dr Yu has clinical expertise in medical and interventional management of chronic pain and delivers a gold-standard interdisciplinary pain management approach to chronic pain patients at Sydney Spine and Pain (SSP) and SSP Rehab, two large multi-disciplinary pain centres in Sydney, Australia.

Dr Yu's passion for clinical research has driven him to establish Australian Medical Research (AMR), a private clinical research facility that collaborates with pharmaceutical and medical device companies to conduct high-quality clinical studies. Dr Yu has been actively involved in various clinical trials involving novel spinal cord stimulators, intra-discal injections, and pain medications. He has been recognised as an examiner and training unit assessor for the Faculty of Pain Medicine (FPM), which is a testament to his expertise. Dr Yu's recent appointment as a supervisor for the FPM pilot program signifies his dedication to teaching interventional pain procedures to pain fellowship trainees.

Dr Yu is the current president of the Neuromodulation Society of Australia and New Zealand (NSANZ) and has been the organiser and moderator of the annual NSANZ cadaver workshops for the past four years.
