Dr. David Broe is an accomplished orthopaedic surgeon at the Prince of Wales Private Hospital who specialises in lower limb surgery. His areas of expertise include hip and knee replacement surgery, orthopaedic trauma, arthroscopic cartilage/meniscal repair, and ligament reconstruction of the knee.
Dr. Broe holds a First Class Honours degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). He completed his basic surgical training in Dublin, graduating with the prestigious MRCSI degree, before undertaking orthopaedic training in Sydney. In 2010, Dr. Broe successfully passed his Fellowship (FRACS) examination before being awarded a fellowship in hip and knee replacement surgery in Sydney. He then went to Europe to undertake a fellowship in arthroscopic/sports surgery about the knee.
Dr. Broe is an avid researcher with a strong interest in advancing orthopaedic medical practices. He has several publications to his name and is currently working on multiple research projects. Dr. Broe is also a Conjoint Lecturer for medical students at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and serves as an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons and surgical trainees. He plays an active role in teaching and training orthopaedic registrars.
In addition to his work in private practice, Dr. Broe is associated with several amateur and professional sporting teams, including the Waratahs and the Australian 7s teams. He is also the doctor/orthopaedic knee expert for the Manly Sea Eagles NRL team.
