Dr Anne MacGibbon

With over two decades of experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, I am an expert in the field. For the last 15 years, I have continuously served as a visiting consultant at RNSH and maintained a private practice at NSPH. I currently serve as a consultant in the high-risk obstetric clinic at RNSH and extend my services towards medical student and specialist training. I was formerly the chair of the Division of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at NSPH.

My extensive specialist training was undertaken at Sydney University's Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, with a particular focus on laparoscopic and complex pelvic surgery. I hold special interests in high-risk obstetrics, medical disorders in pregnancy, and multiple pregnancies, amongst others. Additionally, I excel in colposcopy, fibroids, laparoscopic, and prolapse surgery.

While I am open and accepting of a woman's decision to choose elective Caesarean section, I prioritize providing a safer and preferred vaginal delivery. Through support, monitoring, and expert care, I have achieved significantly lower intervention rates than the average rate, thus providing the best possible outcome for my patients. Moreover, I also offer external cephalic version services to turn breech babies and increase the likelihood of a vaginal birth, available in both public and private hospitals.
