Dr. Andrew Palmer is a highly qualified medical professional with a passion for gastroenterology, hepatology and addiction medicine. Graduating with commendation in medicine from the University of Aberdeen, he is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. Dr. Palmer is also an experienced Staff Specialist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he serves in gastroenterology & hepatology and addiction medicine on a part-time basis.

Advanced training at the Mater Hospital and Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane has further honed his expertise. Dr. Palmer contributes to the body of research on gastrointestinal cancer through his previously published work, which explored the endoscopic management of upper gastrointestinal bleeding, and on the role of gut microbiome in gastrointestinal disease.

Currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Queensland, Dr. Palmer maintains a strong commitment to quality endoscopy. He will soon begin a new chapter of his career in Cairns where he will work on a permanent part-time basis several days each month through Cairns Gastroenterology. Dr. Palmer's impressive credentials and dedication to medical excellence make him a valuable addition to the team.
