Dr Sam McKewin

Dr Sam McKewin is an experienced and accomplished orthopaedic surgeon specializing in shoulder, hip, and knee surgery. He obtained his medical degree from the University of New South Wales in 1999 and completed his specialist training in orthopaedic surgery in 2008, becoming a member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Dr McKewin has been practicing as a staff specialist in orthopaedic surgery at Cairns Hospital since then.

Dr McKewin's main areas of expertise are arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery and arthroplasty (joint replacement) surgery of the hip, knee, and shoulder. He is proficient in various procedures such as shoulder arthroscopy, repair of rotator cuff tears, labrum tears, treatment of recalcitrant adhesive capsulitis, ACJ osteoarthritis, acromioplasty, coracoplasty, hip arthroscopy, and knee arthroscopy.
