Dr Mathew Sebastian is a vascular surgeon with over a decade of experience in the field. He specializes in vascular surgical procedures and currently practices in the Newcastle and Hunter Region of New South Wales. Dr Sebastian graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1990 and completed his basic and advanced specialty training in general surgery in Singapore. In 1999, he obtained his exit certification in general surgery and went on to complete a vascular surgical fellowship at the Carolinas Medical Center in North Carolina, USA, with a focus on endovascular therapy, including aortic stent grafting and lower extremity and renal interventions. Dr Sebastian has held significant positions throughout his career. He served as the sub-specialty chief for vascular surgery at the Singapore General Hospital and was also the director of the non-invasive vascular ultrasound lab. Additionally, he held the position of adjunct associate professor on the faculty of the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School Singapore. In January 2011, Dr Sebastian obtained his FRACS (Vascular Surgery) and currently holds a public appointment as Staff Specialist Vascular Surgeon at the John Hunter Hospital. In addition to his public appointment, Dr Sebastian also consults privately at his rooms in Vascular HealthCare in Gateshead and East Maitland. His dedication to providing the highest quality care to his patients is evident through his extensive experience and expertise in vascular surgery.
