Dr Sonia Anwar

Dr. Sonia Anwar is a dedicated and accomplished Obstetrician and Gynaecologist based in North Lakes, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Originally from Pakistan, Dr. Anwar has over 8 years of experience in providing comprehensive women's health care services.

Dr. Anwar's expertise spans across all areas of gynaecology, including cervical screening, laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgeries, contraceptive services, endometriosis management, and fertility treatments. She is an IFV specialist and has a special interest in colposcopy, menstrual abnormalities, menopause, infertility, contraception/IUD insertion, pelvic organ prolapse, laparoscopic surgery, hysteroscopic surgery, and IVF.

Dr. Anwar obtained her MBBS degree and completed her specialist qualification as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in Queensland. She underwent training at prestigious hospitals including Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Bundaberg Base Hospital, and Redcliffe Hospital. She is currently working as a specialist at Redcliffe Hospital and is associated with Peninsula Private Hospital Qld, North West Private Hospital, and Caboolture Private Hospital as well.

Dr. Anwar is known for her excellent communication skills and her ability to understand the needs and expectations of her patients. She believes in providing evidence-based care and creating a safe and supportive environment for her patients. Fluent in Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi, Dr. Anwar is experienced in working with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds.

In addition to her medical career, Dr. Anwar enjoys spending time with her young family, gardening, and going on long walks. She is passionate about women's reproductive health and has completed a Post Graduate degree in Reproductive Medicine from UNSW.
