Dr Irfan Khan

Dr Irfan Khan is a dual specialist in General Paediatrics and Paediatric Emergency Medicine. He holds a Staff Specialist position at the Queensland Children’s Hospital and sees patients from the neonatal stage to 18 years of age. His expertise includes diagnosing and managing a wide range of paediatric medical conditions, from minor illnesses to complex and serious diseases. Dr Khan completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the Fiji School of Medicine before gaining clinical experience in Fiji and later moving to Queensland. His qualifications include a Diploma in Child Health (DCH) from the University of Sydney, a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Ultrasound (GCCU) from the University of Melbourne, a Graduate Certificate in Allergic Diseases (GCAD) from Western Sydney University, and a Master’s in Public Health and Tropical Medicine (MPHTM) from James Cook University. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Paediatrics and has completed subspecialty training in Paediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM). His clinical experience spans multiple hospitals, including roles as a Registrar at the Royal Children’s, Prince Charles, Logan, and Townsville hospitals. He also trained as a Fellow in Paediatric Emergency Medicine at the Queensland Children’s Hospital. He is now consulting at North West Private Hospital and Mater, where he provides specialised paediatric care. Dr Khan is a member of the Neurodevelopmental and Behavioural Paediatric Society of Australasia (NBPSA) and the Australian Trauma Society. He is also a Senior Lecturer in Paediatrics at Griffith University. In addition to English, he speaks Hindi and Urdu.
