Dr. Shing Wong is a highly skilled Clinical Academic and Colorectal/General Surgeon who began serving at Prince of Wales Public and Private Hospitals in 2005. As Head of the Colorectal Unit, he provides a broad range of medical services, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and general surgical procedures such as hernia, gallbladder, and pilonidal sinus operations. He has a particular interest in colorectal cancer and screening, anorectal diseases, and advanced colonoscopy. Dr. Wong completed his Bachelor of Medicine-Surgery with honors at the University of Sydney in 1992, later earning his General Surgical Fellowship in 2002 and the Australasian Post-fellowship Colorectal Training Program in 2004.
An eminent authority in his field, Dr. Wong completed his Master of Surgery (Colorectal) at the University of Sydney in 2007. Additionally, he was awarded the Graduate Certificate in University Learning and Teaching from the University of New South Wales as he is enthusiastic about teaching and clinical research. He has won numerous accolades for his exceptional teaching methods, including the "Best Consultant Clinical Teacher" award at Prince of Wales Hospital. Dr. Wong's research output consists of four book chapters, forty-two publications in peer-reviewed journals, and multiple conference presentations. He serves as a Senior Lecturer at the University of NSW and is even responsible for the new Phase 3 Surgical Course at UNSW as Course Convener. With his extensive expertise, Dr. Shing Wong is recognized among the most respected figures in the medical community.
