Dr Sharon Heng

Dr Sharon Heng is a highly qualified and experienced Medical Oncologist and Palliative Care Physician based in Morayfield, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. She is dedicated to providing personalized and supportive care to all her patients, with a primary focus on delivering the most up-to-date treatments.

Dr Heng obtained her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2007. She then pursued further specialization in the field of Medical Oncology and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Medical Oncology in 2017. Dr Heng also holds the esteemed title of Fellow of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (FAChPM), which she achieved in 2018.

With a special interest in solid cancers, Dr Heng possesses extensive expertise in the treatment of lung, gastro-intestinal, and women-specific cancers, such as breast and gynaecological cancer. She is committed to ensuring that her patients have access to the most advanced and effective therapies at every stage of their cancer journey.

Dr Heng has made significant contributions to medical literature, having published papers in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Palliative Medicine and the Internal Journal of Medicine. Her research focuses on topics including the usage of Diatrizoate Meglumine (Gastrografin®) for intestinal obstruction or constipation in patients with advanced neoplasms, as well as large volume subcutaneous lymphoedema drainage.

Dr Heng is fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Malay, which allows her to communicate effectively with a diverse range of patients. She is passionate about delivering compassionate care and providing the necessary support for patients and their families throughout their treatment journey.
